Director Harold Becker’s coming-of-age military drama ”Taps” was released in 1981, when the Fall of Saigon and the end of our misadventure in Vietnam was still only six years in our past… a little more than one Presidential election cycle under the bridge and downstream.
Just over 40 years later, the location of the Movie - Valley Forge Military Academy - has declining enrollment and has sold off multiple pieces of land, not for Condo's but for mcmansions and for a Sr. living facility.
That’s sad. I note that my son is in a Catholic school with declining enrollment. It’s his second school, the first having closed for the same reason. We are in real trouble.
"Courage is esteemed the first in human virtues because it is the one that ensures all others," wrote Churchill but must be coupled with wisdom as your Excellency says. Sadly wisdom is in short supply nowadays. Real men need to step up.
