If you want to see fully developed and empowered, yet distinctly feminine characters, I suggest watching any of Taylor Sheridan's series. 1923 in particular is spectacular in portraying strong women who are empowered and inspired by finding strong men to fall in love with.
Again, I have to chide Hollywood for a lack of imagination (or an unwillingness to spend money on something new). Instead of remaking Snow White into predictable woke drivel, come up with a new story instead of dragging down a beautiful one. It's the same with some wanting a female 007 - if you can't create a good, popular female spy story don't waste our time by trying to castrate an existing character.
Alright, now I have to subscribe. However, I want it known that I dislike Walsh. He is the least best offering over at DW. An unfunny man with a slew of horrible takes.
Revising fairy tales and myths, that are loaded with archetypes that speak to our psyches and reveal ancient truths, is about destroying a hated culture. Otherwise they would simply create a new story about a peasant girl who dreams of leading a kingdom.
Yes, but as I often point out, movies are about characters and emotions… not things… that’s why we have a dismissive word to describe to goal of a movie hero… the “McGuffin.”
I'd say Aristotle codified the rules of story telling rather than invented them but that's a nitpick.
To cite a very old advertising story/joke, "Maybe the dogs just don't like the damn dog food." Certainly a large portion of the public that spends money on entertainment doesn't seem to like the damn woke movies. Same thing happened to the gaming industry.
I feel sorry for those below the top of the "Hollywood Industry" who no longer can make a living by helping make movies, but not the decision-makers at the top. They're trying to sell dog food the dogs won't eat, and the dogs" have too many other options for spending their entertainment dollars.
We are a long way from Walt's Disney. A cherished world is gone. So sad.

Sheridan is definitely benefitting from being one of the only guys out there willing to buck the modern messaging trend

For sure… we have a lot of issues right now out here in LA
More shame added to the Disney name.

Fair enough… thanks for coming aboard!
Wait, do you mean Matt Walsh? Michael Walsh is an author and conservative pundit, but he does not work for the daily wire.
Ohhhh, yep. Wrong Walsh. Imma dummy.
No sweat, FTR, I agree with you on the other Walsh 🤣
