If you are a cinephile like I am, then you’re likely aware of Paul Schrader’s “Hardcore”, the story of a pious midwestern single father (George C. Scott) who descends into the Los Angeles pornography scene to find his missing daughter who was last seen performing in a low budget porno film… but it’s also possible that if you’re a cinephile like I am (or more accurately, a cinephile like I was before this weekend) you haven’t actually seen the movie.
